Transitions Performance Lenses
Transitions lenses are so successful and well-known due to their exclusive, patented formulas. These formulas are part of the surface of the lens, and the molecules seamlessly recalibrate so the optimal amount of light reaches your eyes, whether that’s under glaring sunlight, cloud cover, or when indoors.
As a PPG product, Three Rivers Optical has been a significant Transitions partner since its inception in the early 1990’s. We were one of the first Transitions Lab of the Year (1994) and were one of three finalists in 2013-14. Their websites provide an amazing amount of practice management and marketing tools at low-or-no-cost to help you grow your business.
These are the specific Transitions lenses available through Three Rivers Optical.
Transitions® Signature™ VII lenses with Chromea7™ technology adapt very quickly to changing lighting conditions. They become darker and can fade to clear faster than previous generations of Transitions lenses. The gray and brown color is consistent and true color regardless of their activation level. Indoors or outdoors, day or night, rain or shine, these lenses adapt to your situation automatically. Signature VII lenses provide clearer sharper vision, reduce low levels of glare, increase comfort, and protect eyes from harmful UV radiation.
This is the lens for your patients have been anticipating. New Transitions® Signature™ VII lenses provide a superior visual experience by being more reactive to varying outdoor light conditions. In fact, more than 8 out of 10 clear lens wearers rated Transitions Signature VII lenses better than their regular clear lenses.

Transitions SOLFX Sun
Transitions SOLFX sun lenses change and calibrate their degree of tint and color with the amount of sunlight in the environment of the wearer. This means that ordinary sunglasses that can be too dark or too light in different settings are a thing of the past. The Transitions SOLFX lenses adjust for sunlight, glare, and shade to ensure patient satisfaction.
Unlike traditional Transitions lenses, which are clear indoors and at night, and which darken outdoors in reaction to the sun, Transitions SOLFX lenses have an initial tint and then self-adjust outdoors with the sun. The lenses automatically change their level of darkness and color to provide optimal vision in sun and shade, eliminating the need to put on and take off sunglasses as light conditions change. The lenses are especially recommended for those in high-performance situations, where a change in sunlight can be an important factor to you. The lenses use the same advanced technology as regular Transitions lenses, but are designed with outdoor activities in mind.

If you are looking to go beyond polarized sunwear for your customers, Transitions Drivewear lenses are able to sense light and react to varying conditions behind the windshield and in direct sun. Regardless of conditions, Drivewear lenses work great in both intense sunlight with glare and during overcast, hazy weather.
Drivewear lenses are the result of a cooperative effort between Younger Optics and Transitions Optical to create the ultimate driving lenses. They are unique in their use of photochromic technology, which reacts to various lighting conditions even behind the windshield of car, all while still reducing glare through polarization. They respond to visible and UV light to give wearers a high degree of contrasts while driving, no matter the weather or driving situation. When unexposed, the lenses are a 30% density high contrast green/yellow, and when activated in the car, they become 50% dark driver-preferred copper color. When tested against direct exposure to sun, these lenses will darken up to 80% and become vermilion in color to enhance contrast sensitivity.

Transitions are one of the best-known names in adaptive sunwear products. The Performance lenses are designed to enhance your vision throughout the changing sunlight conditions of outdoor activities. In bright light, they are sufficiently darkened. When indoors, the lenses become clear. With ordinary clear lenses, one’s eyes have to constantly adjust to changing light. His or her pupils dilate and the eyes squint. While this seems very natural, constant adjustment throughout the day can culminate to produce eyestrain and fatigue.
Transitions lenses filter this light for the user so his or her eyes don’t have to work as hard. Obviously, this helps calm and relax the eyes.
